10x50 Monocular - Compact Monocular Telescope for Bird Watching

This 10x50 monocular is a compact monocular telescope for bird watching, wildlife spotting and general outdoor use, supplied with a tabletop tripod and a smartphone clamp. Ten times magnification is roughly as much as most people can hold steady by hand, and the 50mm objective lens is the part that keeps the view bright at that magnification. Divide the objective by the magnification and you get a 5mm exit pupil, which is the width of the beam of light leaving the eyepiece.

The body is molded ABS with a knurled rubber grip panel, a manual focus ring and a twist-down eyecup. A threaded socket in the base takes the supplied tripod, and the spring clamp holds a handset between 58mm and 80mm wide over the eyepiece.

It suits anyone who would rather carry something in a coat pocket on an ordinary walk than leave a full sized pair of binoculars in the car, and at 155mm long it is small enough to carry every day and honest enough to check the numbers yourself.

Key Features:

• Ten times magnification paired with a 50mm objective lens gives a 5mm exit pupil, a figure you can verify yourself by dividing one number by the other.
• Single barrel construction measuring 155mm long fits a jacket pocket and leaves one hand free for a lead, a gate or a map.
• The supplied tabletop tripod screws into the threaded socket in the base and takes the hand shake out of viewing at ten times magnification.
• A spring clamp holds any handset between 58mm and 80mm wide squarely over the eyepiece so you can photograph whatever you are looking at.
• The twist-down rubber eyecup adjusts through its travel so you can keep your glasses on rather than taking them off each time.
• A knurled manual focus ring turns for repeatable focus, with a green coated objective lens sitting behind a removable cover.
• Everything needed arrives in the box including the tripod, phone clamp, both lens covers, a wrist rope, a drawstring pouch and a cleaning cloth.

Terrabound sells outdoor kit for people who read the spec table before they read the description. This is a monocular with two numbers that work together and nothing claimed beyond them.

Pair it with our compact binoculars and a headlamp for a complete wildlife watching kit.
