Description
These microspikes are slip-on ice grips for walking boots and outdoor shoes, with 24 stainless steel spikes that sit under the ball of your foot and your heel. Pull them on when the path turns icy and keep your normal stride on frozen paths, tracks and packed snow instead of shuffling.
The stretch TPE band hooks over the toe, runs along both sides of the sole and pulls over the heel by its loop, so you can fit them by hand in a few seconds. Webbing straps hold the spike plates under the forefoot and the heel, where your weight lands, and the heat-treated stainless steel spikes bite into ice and hard-packed snow. The band is rated to stay flexible down to -40°C, and the pair rolls up small enough to keep in your rucksack or the car until you need them.
Wear them for winter hill walks on icy paths, early dog walks on frozen lanes, slippery pavements and trips to snowy places, for a steady stride on ice in the boots you already own. They are designed for paths, tracks and pavements; on steep snow and ice in the mountains you still need full crampons and an ice axe. Take them off before you walk on rock, tiles or indoor floors.
